WE SAW QUITE A FEW CRASHES AFTER 9:00 THIS MORNING. WE HAVE VIDEO FROM OUR SCOUT CAMERA AT 435 AND 23RD STREET. KANSAS CITY POLICE SAY CRASH ON THE EAST ON EXIT LET THIS MIND TO OVERTURN. FORTUNATELY, NOBODY WAS HURT. IN KCK, SEVERAL BLOCKS OF METROPOLITAN AVENUE EAST OF I-635 WERE SHUT DOWN THIS MORNING AFTER A SERIOUS CRASH INVOLVING A PEDESTRIAN. AN ELDERLY MAN WAS AT HAVING TO CROSS THE STREET AT 42ND METROPOLITAN WHEN HE STEPPED IN FRONT OF A TRUCK. IT WAS RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL WITH LIFE-THREATENING INJURIES. POLICE SAY DIRECT SUNSHINE LIKELY LIMITED VISIBILITY. THE DRIVER OF THE TRUCK REMAINED ON SCENE AND IS COOPERATING. YOU CAN TELL YOU ALL IMPACTED

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says an Accident Investigation Team responded to a fatal crash overnight Tuesday. Police say one person has died after an accident in the 9800 block of Lexington in DeSoto, Kansas, around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sep. 14.A single vehicle with one driver was traveling westbound when it struck a guardrail on a curve and overturned.The deceased driver has been identified as John W. Couch. He was 56 years old at the time of the crash.The exact cause of what led to Couch’s vehicle overturning is still under investigation by police.The last several days have been perilous on the roads and highways in and around the Kansas City area.
